Russia’s Trade with Denmark

In the 3rd quarter of 2020, Russia’s trade with Denmark was $568,716,903, down 47.05% ($505,431,668) from the 3rd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s exports to Denmark in the 3rd quarter of 2020 were $272,357,968, down 64.42% ($493,111,623) from the 3rd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s imports from Denmark in the 3rd quarter of 2020 were $296,358,935, down 3.99% ($12,320,045) from the 3rd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s trade balance with Denmark went from a surplus of $456,790,611 in the 3rd quarter of 2019, to a deficit of $24,000,967 in the 3rd quarter of 2020.

Denmark was Russia’s 40th largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2020 (down from 33rd in the 3rd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.4164% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.6476% in the 3rd quarter of 2019).

Denmark was Russia’s 46th largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2020 (down from 32nd in the 3rd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.3463% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.7409% in the 3rd quarter of 2019).

Denmark was Russia’s 34th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2020 (just as in the 3rd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.5117% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.4935% in the 3rd quarter of 2019).

Russia’s Exports to Denmark

The major share of Russian exports to Denmark in the 3rd quarter of 2020 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2019) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 55.59% of Russia’s total exports to Denmark (78.15% in the 3rd quarter of 2019);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 16.78% of Russia’s total exports to Denmark (5.01% in the 3rd quarter of 2019);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 8.15% of Russia’s total exports to Denmark (3.24% in the 3rd quarter of 2019);

  • Edible vegetables and certain roots and tubers (HS code 07) - an increase of $1,954,512;
  • Essential oils and resinoids; perfumery, cosmetic or toilet preparations (HS code 33) - an increase of $1,444,058.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Denmark in the 3rd quarter of 2020 over the 3rd quarter of 2019 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $446,813,234;
  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $70,052,186;
  • Residues and waste from the food industries; prepared animal feed (HS code 23) - a decrease of $3,782,109;
  • Aluminum and articles thereof (HS code 76) - a decrease of $2,529,581.
