Russia’s Trade with Portugal

In the 3rd quarter of 2020, Russia’s trade with Portugal was $173,956,816, down 42.15% ($126,764,340) from the 3rd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s exports to Portugal in the 3rd quarter of 2020 were $38,859,770, down 75.15% ($117,540,470) from the 3rd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s imports from Portugal in the 3rd quarter of 2020 were $135,097,046, down 6.39% ($9,223,870) from the 3rd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s trade balance with Portugal went from a surplus of $12,079,324 in the 3rd quarter of 2019, to a deficit of $96,237,276 in the 3rd quarter of 2020.

Portugal was Russia’s 71st largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2020 (down from 63rd in the 3rd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.1274% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.1813% in the 3rd quarter of 2019).

Russia’s Exports to Portugal

The major share of Russian exports to Portugal in the 3rd quarter of 2020 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2019) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 19.52% of Russia’s total exports to Portugal (7.09% in the 3rd quarter of 2019);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 15.37% of Russia’s total exports to Portugal (4.35% in the 3rd quarter of 2019);
