Russia’s Trade with Saudi Arabia
In the 3rd quarter of 2020, Russia’s trade with Saudi Arabia was $398,019,468, down 27.46% ($150,705,776) from the 3rd quarter of 2019.
Russia’s exports to Saudi Arabia in the 3rd quarter of 2020 were $341,431,010, down 28.89% ($138,724,930) from the 3rd quarter of 2019.
Russia’s imports from Saudi Arabia in the 3rd quarter of 2020 were $56,588,458, down 17.47% ($11,980,846) from the 3rd quarter of 2019.
Russia’s trade surplus with Saudi Arabia in the 3rd quarter of 2020 was $284,842,552, a 30.79% decrease ($126,744,084) over the 3rd quarter of 2019.
Saudi Arabia was Russia’s 52nd largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2020 (down from 48th in the 3rd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.2914% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.3308% in the 3rd quarter of 2019).
Saudi Arabia was Russia’s 41st largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2020 (down from 38th in the 3rd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.4341% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.4647% in the 3rd quarter of 2019).
Saudi Arabia was Russia’s 67th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2020 (down from 66th in the 3rd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.0977% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.1096% in the 3rd quarter of 2019).
Russia’s Exports to Saudi Arabia
The major share of Russian exports to Saudi Arabia in the 3rd quarter of 2020 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2019) was accounted for the following product types:
- Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 78.76% of Russia’s total exports to Saudi Arabia (33.07% in the 3rd quarter of 2019);
- Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 13.51% of Russia’s total exports to Saudi Arabia (13.97% in the 3rd quarter of 2019);
- Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 3.35% of Russia’s total exports to Saudi Arabia (1.88% in the 3rd quarter of 2019);
- Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 1.67% of Russia’s total exports to Saudi Arabia (26.72% in the 3rd quarter of 2019);
- Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 1.29% of Russia’s total exports to Saudi Arabia (3.01% in the 3rd quarter of 2019);

- Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - an increase of $3,937,013;
