Russia’s Trade with Sweden

In the 3rd quarter of 2020, Russia’s trade with Sweden was $698,359,957, down 40.57% ($476,735,935) from the 3rd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s exports to Sweden in the 3rd quarter of 2020 were $232,106,821, down 64.09% ($414,275,389) from the 3rd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s imports from Sweden in the 3rd quarter of 2020 were $466,253,136, down 11.81% ($62,460,546) from the 3rd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s trade balance with Sweden went from a surplus of $117,668,528 in the 3rd quarter of 2019, to a deficit of $234,146,315 in the 3rd quarter of 2020.

Sweden was Russia’s 33rd largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2020 (down from 29th in the 3rd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.5113% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.7084% in the 3rd quarter of 2019).

Sweden was Russia’s 49th largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2020 (down from 34th in the 3rd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.2951% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.6256% in the 3rd quarter of 2019).

Sweden was Russia’s 26th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2020 (down from 25th in the 3rd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.8050% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.8453% in the 3rd quarter of 2019).

Russia’s Exports to Sweden

The major share of Russian exports to Sweden in the 3rd quarter of 2020 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2019) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 43.00% of Russia’s total exports to Sweden (58.76% in the 3rd quarter of 2019);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 36.99% of Russia’s total exports to Sweden (24.88% in the 3rd quarter of 2019);
