Russia’s Trade with Brazil
In the 4th quarter of 2020, Russia’s trade with Brazil totaled $1,198,062,296, up 0.01% ($163,358) from the 4th quarter of 2019.
Russia’s exports to Brazil in the 4th quarter of 2020 totaled $683,007,337, up 8.17% ($51,560,244) from the 4th quarter of 2019.
Russia’s imports from Brazil in the 4th quarter of 2020 were $515,054,959, down 9.07% ($51,396,886) from the 4th quarter of 2019.
Russia’s trade surplus with Brazil in the 4th quarter of 2020 was $167,952,378, a 158.41% increase ($102,957,130) over the 4th quarter of 2019.
Brazil was Russia’s 30th largest trading partner in the 4th quarter of 2020 (just as in the 4th quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.7393% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.6660% in the 4th quarter of 2019).
Brazil was Russia’s 29th largest export market in the 4th quarter of 2020 (up from 38th in the 4th quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.7233% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.5646% in the 4th quarter of 2019).
Brazil was Russia’s 26th largest supplier in the 4th quarter of 2020 (up from 27th in the 4th quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.7616% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.8327% in the 4th quarter of 2019).
Russia’s Exports to Brazil
The major share of Russian exports to Brazil in the 4th quarter of 2020 (and in the 4th quarter of 2019) was accounted for the following product types:
- Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 66.88% of Russia’s total exports to Brazil (81.30% in the 4th quarter of 2019);
- Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 23.68% of Russia’s total exports to Brazil (11.28% in the 4th quarter of 2019);
- Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 4.99% of Russia’s total exports to Brazil (2.38% in the 4th quarter of 2019);

The major share of Russian imports from Brazil in the 4th quarter of 2020 (and in the 4th quarter of 2019) was accounted for the following product types:

- Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 15.51% of Russia’s total imports from Brazil (6.52% in the 4th quarter of 2019);
