Russia’s Trade with Egypt

In the 4th quarter of 2020, Russia’s trade with Egypt totaled $2,032,401,553, up 14.29% ($254,179,771) from the 4th quarter of 2019.

Russia’s exports to Egypt in the 4th quarter of 2020 totaled $1,952,451,819, up 14.57% ($248,278,769) from the 4th quarter of 2019.

Russia’s imports from Egypt in the 4th quarter of 2020 totaled $79,949,734, up 7.97% ($5,901,002) from the 4th quarter of 2019.

Russia’s trade surplus with Egypt in the 4th quarter of 2020 was $1,872,502,085, a 14.87% increase ($242,377,767) over the 4th quarter of 2019.

Egypt was Russia’s 17th largest trading partner in the 4th quarter of 2020 (up from 20th in the 4th quarter of 2019), accounting for 1.2541% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.9886% in the 4th quarter of 2019).

Egypt was Russia’s 13th largest export market in the 4th quarter of 2020 (up from 17th in the 4th quarter of 2019), accounting for 2.0677% of Russia’s total exports (up from 1.5237% in the 4th quarter of 2019).

Egypt was Russia’s 64th largest supplier in the 4th quarter of 2020 (up from 68th in the 4th quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.1182% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.1089% in the 4th quarter of 2019).

Russia’s Exports to Egypt

The major share of Russian exports to Egypt in the 4th quarter of 2020 (and in the 4th quarter of 2019) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 45.88% of Russia’s total exports to Egypt (28.65% in the 4th quarter of 2019);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 13.35% of Russia’s total exports to Egypt (6.45% in the 4th quarter of 2019);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 8.71% of Russia’s total exports to Egypt (11.14% in the 4th quarter of 2019);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 4.19% of Russia’s total exports to Egypt (3.78% in the 4th quarter of 2019);

  • Wood and articles of wood; wood charcoal (HS code 44) - an increase of $24,831,098;

  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $41,049,843;
