Russia’s Trade with Ghana

In the 4th quarter of 2020, Russia’s trade with Ghana was $44,582,292, down 2.04% ($928,276) from the 4th quarter of 2019.

Russia’s exports to Ghana in the 4th quarter of 2020 totaled $26,700,659, up 56.12% ($9,597,828) from the 4th quarter of 2019.

Russia’s imports from Ghana in the 4th quarter of 2020 were $17,881,633, down 37.05% ($10,526,104) from the 4th quarter of 2019.

Russia’s trade balance with Ghana went from a deficit of $11,304,906 in the 4th quarter of 2019, to a surplus of $8,819,026 in the 4th quarter of 2020.

Ghana was Russia’s 104th largest trading partner in the 4th quarter of 2020 (just as in the 4th quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.0275% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0253% in the 4th quarter of 2019).

Ghana was Russia’s 93rd largest supplier in the 4th quarter of 2020 (down from 85th in the 4th quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.0264% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0418% in the 4th quarter of 2019).

The major share of Russian exports to Ghana in the 4th quarter of 2020 (and in the 4th quarter of 2019) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 30.98% of Russia’s total exports to Ghana (50.65% in the 4th quarter of 2019);

  • Essential oils and resinoids; perfumery, cosmetic or toilet preparations (HS code 33) - an increase of $706,283;

  • Inorganic chemicals; organic or inorganic compounds of precious metals, of rare-earth metals,of radioactive elements or of isotopes (HS code 28) - a decrease of $286,178;
