Russia’s Trade with Lebanon

In the 4th quarter of 2020, Russia’s trade with Lebanon totaled $140,826,072, up 57.16% ($51,216,449) from the 4th quarter of 2019.

Russia’s exports to Lebanon in the 4th quarter of 2020 totaled $136,533,029, up 58.13% ($50,188,745) from the 4th quarter of 2019.

Russia’s imports from Lebanon in the 4th quarter of 2020 totaled $4,293,043, up 31.47% ($1,027,704) from the 4th quarter of 2019.

Russia’s trade surplus with Lebanon in the 4th quarter of 2020 was $132,239,986, a 59.17% increase ($49,161,041) over the 4th quarter of 2019.

Lebanon was Russia’s 80th largest trading partner in the 4th quarter of 2020 (up from 86th in the 4th quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.0869% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0498% in the 4th quarter of 2019).

Lebanon was Russia’s 66th largest export market in the 4th quarter of 2020 (up from 73rd in the 4th quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.1446% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0772% in the 4th quarter of 2019).

Lebanon was Russia’s 113th largest supplier in the 4th quarter of 2020 (up from 115th in the 4th quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.0063% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0048% in the 4th quarter of 2019).

Russia’s Exports to Lebanon

The major share of Russian exports to Lebanon in the 4th quarter of 2020 (and in the 4th quarter of 2019) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 59.84% of Russia’s total exports to Lebanon (53.91% in the 4th quarter of 2019);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 30.09% of Russia’s total exports to Lebanon (32.49% in the 4th quarter of 2019);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 5.92% of Russia’s total exports to Lebanon (1.77% in the 4th quarter of 2019);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 2.54% of Russia’s total exports to Lebanon (6.12% in the 4th quarter of 2019);

  • Cereals (HS code 10) - an increase of $9,903,049;
  • Miscellaneous chemical products (HS code 38) - an increase of $7,026,060;
  • Animal or vegetable fats and oils and their cleavage products prepared edible fats; animal or vegetable waxes (HS code 15) - an increase of $2,409,466;
  • Salt; sulfur; earths and stone; plastering materials, lime and cement (HS code 25) - an increase of $2,171,868;
  • Live animals (HS code 01) - an increase of $656,208;
  • Residues and waste from the food industries; prepared animal feed (HS code 23) - an increase of $482,878.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Lebanon in the 4th quarter of 2020 over the 4th quarter of 2019 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $2,350,687;
  • Wood and articles of wood; wood charcoal (HS code 44) - a decrease of $1,795,214;
  • Tools, implements, cutlery, spoons and forks, of base metal; parts thereof of base metal (HS code 82) - a decrease of $477,542;
  • Fertilizers (HS code 31) - a decrease of $472,052.
