Russia’s Trade with Australia

In the 1st quarter of 2021, Russia’s trade with Australia was $183,322,401, down 6.02% ($11,744,355) from the 1st quarter of 2020.

Russia’s exports to Australia in the 1st quarter of 2021 totaled $34,351,952, up 41.56% ($10,085,480) from the 1st quarter of 2020.

Russia’s imports from Australia in the 1st quarter of 2021 were $148,970,449, down 12.78% ($21,829,835) from the 1st quarter of 2020.

Russia’s trade deficit with Australia in the 1st quarter of 2021 was $114,618,497, a 21.78% decrease ($31,915,315) over the 1st quarter of 2020.

Australia was Russia’s 69th largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2021 (up from 71st in the 1st quarter of 2020), accounting for 0.1186% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.1372% in the 1st quarter of 2020).

Australia was Russia’s 93rd largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2021 (just as in the 1st quarter of 2020), accounting for 0.0372% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0273% in the 1st quarter of 2020).

Australia was Russia’s 47th largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2021 (down from 46th in the 1st quarter of 2020), accounting for 0.2391% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.3213% in the 1st quarter of 2020).

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 23.76% of Russia’s total exports to Australia (31.24% in the 1st quarter of 2020);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 8.87% of Russia’s total exports to Australia (10.14% in the 1st quarter of 2020);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 7.77% of Russia’s total exports to Australia (26.48% in the 1st quarter of 2020);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 5.87% of Russia’s total exports to Australia (5.03% in the 1st quarter of 2020);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 2.21% of Russia’s total exports to Australia (8.41% in the 1st quarter of 2020);

  • Aluminum and articles thereof (HS code 76) - an increase of $484,731;

  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - a decrease of $573,035;
  • Cocoa and cocoa preparations (HS code 18) - a decrease of $426,997;
