Russia’s Trade with Brazil
In the 1st quarter of 2021, Russia’s trade with Brazil totaled $1,251,302,812, up 62.45% ($481,043,963) from the 1st quarter of 2020.
Russia’s exports to Brazil in the 1st quarter of 2021 totaled $826,840,589, up 182.38% ($534,024,355) from the 1st quarter of 2020.
Russia’s imports from Brazil in the 1st quarter of 2021 were $424,462,223, down 11.10% ($52,980,392) from the 1st quarter of 2020.
Russia’s trade balance with Brazil went from a deficit of $184,626,381 in the 1st quarter of 2020, to a surplus of $402,378,366 in the 1st quarter of 2021.
Brazil was Russia’s 24th largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2021 (up from 37th in the 1st quarter of 2020), accounting for 0.8096% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.5419% in the 1st quarter of 2020).
Brazil was Russia’s 26th largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2021 (up from 47th in the 1st quarter of 2020), accounting for 0.8962% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.3291% in the 1st quarter of 2020).
Brazil was Russia’s 29th largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2021 (down from 23rd in the 1st quarter of 2020), accounting for 0.6813% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.8982% in the 1st quarter of 2020).
Russia’s Exports to Brazil
The major share of Russian exports to Brazil in the 1st quarter of 2021 (and in the 1st quarter of 2020) was accounted for the following product types:
- Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 54.25% of Russia’s total exports to Brazil (72.10% in the 1st quarter of 2020);
- Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 30.09% of Russia’s total exports to Brazil (17.43% in the 1st quarter of 2020);
- Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 13.46% of Russia’s total exports to Brazil (4.05% in the 1st quarter of 2020);
- Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 1.38% of Russia’s total exports to Brazil (1.59% in the 1st quarter of 2020);
