Russia’s Trade with Cyprus

In the 1st quarter of 2021, Russia’s trade with Cyprus was $38,658,608, down 68.56% ($84,282,178) from the 1st quarter of 2020.

Russia’s exports to Cyprus in the 1st quarter of 2021 were $34,979,380, down 70.60% ($84,002,448) from the 1st quarter of 2020.

Russia’s imports from Cyprus in the 1st quarter of 2021 were $3,679,228, down 7.07% ($279,730) from the 1st quarter of 2020.

Russia’s trade surplus with Cyprus in the 1st quarter of 2021 was $31,300,152, a 72.79% decrease ($83,722,718) over the 1st quarter of 2020.

Cyprus was Russia’s 105th largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2021 (down from 80th in the 1st quarter of 2020), accounting for 0.0250% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0865% in the 1st quarter of 2020).

Cyprus was Russia’s 92nd largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2021 (down from 68th in the 1st quarter of 2020), accounting for 0.0379% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.1337% in the 1st quarter of 2020).

Cyprus was Russia’s 112th largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2021 (down from 108th in the 1st quarter of 2020), accounting for 0.0059% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0074% in the 1st quarter of 2020).

Russia’s Exports to Cyprus

The major share of Russian exports to Cyprus in the 1st quarter of 2021 (and in the 1st quarter of 2020) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Glass and glassware (HS code 70) - an increase of $631,571;

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Cyprus in the 1st quarter of 2021 over the 1st quarter of 2020 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $93,903,823;
  • Aluminum and articles thereof (HS code 76) - a decrease of $2,881,360;

  • Wadding, felt and nonwovens; special yarns, twine, cordage, ropes and cables and articles thereof (HS code 56) - a decrease of $278,604.
