Russia’s Trade with Hong Kong
In the 1st quarter of 2021, Russia’s trade with Hong Kong totaled $474,062,035, up 40.49% ($136,629,489) from the 1st quarter of 2020.
Russia’s exports to Hong Kong in the 1st quarter of 2021 totaled $375,703,626, up 62.15% ($144,000,016) from the 1st quarter of 2020.
Russia’s imports from Hong Kong in the 1st quarter of 2021 were $98,358,409, down 6.97% ($7,370,527) from the 1st quarter of 2020.
Russia’s trade surplus with Hong Kong in the 1st quarter of 2021 was $277,345,217, a 120.16% increase ($151,370,543) over the 1st quarter of 2020.
Hong Kong was Russia’s 51st largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2021 (up from 57th in the 1st quarter of 2020), accounting for 0.3067% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.2374% in the 1st quarter of 2020).
Hong Kong was Russia’s 42nd largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2021 (up from 53rd in the 1st quarter of 2020), accounting for 0.4072% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.2604% in the 1st quarter of 2020).
Hong Kong was Russia’s 59th largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2021 (down from 58th in the 1st quarter of 2020), accounting for 0.1579% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.1989% in the 1st quarter of 2020).
Russia’s Exports to Hong Kong
The major share of Russian exports to Hong Kong in the 1st quarter of 2021 (and in the 1st quarter of 2020) was accounted for the following product types:
- Precious metals and stones (HS code 71) - 64.06% of Russia’s total exports to Hong Kong (15.22% in the 1st quarter of 2020);
- Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 9.31% of Russia’s total exports to Hong Kong (11.57% in the 1st quarter of 2020);
- Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 6.33% of Russia’s total exports to Hong Kong (9.82% in the 1st quarter of 2020);
- Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 5.27% of Russia’s total exports to Hong Kong (49.86% in the 1st quarter of 2020);
