Russia’s Trade with Bangladesh
In the 2nd quarter of 2021, Russia’s trade with Bangladesh totaled $700,049,198, up 122.61% ($385,572,810) from the 2nd quarter of 2020.
Russia’s exports to Bangladesh in the 2nd quarter of 2021 totaled $357,337,271, up 108.90% ($186,284,348) from the 2nd quarter of 2020.
Russia’s imports from Bangladesh in the 2nd quarter of 2021 totaled $342,711,927, up 138.95% ($199,288,462) from the 2nd quarter of 2020.
Russia’s trade surplus with Bangladesh in the 2nd quarter of 2021 was $14,625,344, a 47.07% decrease ($13,004,114) over the 2nd quarter of 2020.
Bangladesh was Russia’s 45th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2021 (up from 59th in the 2nd quarter of 2020), accounting for 0.3699% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.2578% in the 2nd quarter of 2020).
Bangladesh was Russia’s 48th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2021 (up from 57th in the 2nd quarter of 2020), accounting for 0.3107% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.2446% in the 2nd quarter of 2020).
Bangladesh was Russia’s 37th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2021 (up from 49th in the 2nd quarter of 2020), accounting for 0.4618% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.2753% in the 2nd quarter of 2020).
Russia’s Exports to Bangladesh
The major share of Russian exports to Bangladesh in the 2nd quarter of 2021 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2020) was accounted for the following product types:
- Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 64.20% of Russia’s total exports to Bangladesh (15.71% in the 2nd quarter of 2020);
- Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 14.69% of Russia’s total exports to Bangladesh (30.65% in the 2nd quarter of 2020);
- Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 12.87% of Russia’s total exports to Bangladesh (33.45% in the 2nd quarter of 2020);
- Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 2.69% of Russia’s total exports to Bangladesh (9.59% in the 2nd quarter of 2020);
