Russia’s Trade with Algeria

In the 3rd quarter of 2021, Russia’s trade with Algeria totaled $958,519,022, up 95.03% ($467,038,031) from the 3rd quarter of 2020.

Russia’s exports to Algeria in the 3rd quarter of 2021 totaled $956,826,141, up 95.08% ($466,357,939) from the 3rd quarter of 2020.

Russia’s imports from Algeria in the 3rd quarter of 2021 totaled $1,692,881, up 67.15% ($680,092) from the 3rd quarter of 2020.

Russia’s trade surplus with Algeria in the 3rd quarter of 2021 was $955,133,260, a 95.14% increase ($465,677,847) over the 3rd quarter of 2020.

Algeria was Russia’s 37th largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2021 (up from 45th in the 3rd quarter of 2020), accounting for 0.4598% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.3599% in the 3rd quarter of 2020).

Algeria was Russia’s 32nd largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2021 (just as in the 3rd quarter of 2020), accounting for 0.7173% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.6236% in the 3rd quarter of 2020).

Algeria was Russia’s 127th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2021 (just as in the 3rd quarter of 2020), accounting for 0.0023% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0017% in the 3rd quarter of 2020).

Russia’s Exports to Algeria

The major share of Russian exports to Algeria in the 3rd quarter of 2021 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2020) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - an increase of $12,549,685;
  • Printed books, newspapers, pictures and other products of the printing industry; manuscripts, typescripts and plans (HS code 49) - an increase of $11,175,343;
  • Pharmaceutical products (HS code 30) - an increase of $4,390,923.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Algeria in the 3rd quarter of 2021 over the 3rd quarter of 2020 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling stock, and parts and accessories thereof (HS code 87) - a decrease of $81,658,291;
