Russia’s Trade with Ghana

In the 3rd quarter of 2021, Russia’s trade with Ghana totaled $69,685,058, up 17.99% ($10,624,212) from the 3rd quarter of 2020.

Russia’s exports to Ghana in the 3rd quarter of 2021 totaled $50,811,605, up 37.33% ($13,812,748) from the 3rd quarter of 2020.

Russia’s imports from Ghana in the 3rd quarter of 2021 were $18,873,453, down 14.45% ($3,188,536) from the 3rd quarter of 2020.

Russia’s trade surplus with Ghana in the 3rd quarter of 2021 was $31,938,152, a 113.82% increase ($17,001,284) over the 3rd quarter of 2020.

Ghana was Russia’s 99th largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2021 (down from 93rd in the 3rd quarter of 2020), accounting for 0.0334% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0432% in the 3rd quarter of 2020).

Ghana was Russia’s 99th largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2021 (down from 91st in the 3rd quarter of 2020), accounting for 0.0381% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0470% in the 3rd quarter of 2020).

  • Fertilizers (HS code 31) - an increase of $1,675,087;
  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - an increase of $1,602,516;
  • Essential oils and resinoids; perfumery, cosmetic or toilet preparations (HS code 33) - an increase of $758,454;
  • Sugars and sugar confectionery (HS code 17) - an increase of $192,400;
  • Products of the milling industry; malt; starches; inulin; wheat gluten (HS code 11) - an increase of $173,532.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Ghana in the 3rd quarter of 2021 over the 3rd quarter of 2020 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Cereals (HS code 10) - a decrease of $8,694,991;
  • Inorganic chemicals; organic or inorganic compounds of precious metals, of rare-earth metals,of radioactive elements or of isotopes (HS code 28) - a decrease of $669,250;
  • Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling stock, and parts and accessories thereof (HS code 87) - a decrease of $359,725;
  • Meat and edible meat offal (HS code 02) - a decrease of $239,032.

The major share of Russian imports from Ghana in the 3rd quarter of 2021 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2020) was accounted for the following product types:

The largest gains in Russia’s imports from Ghana in the 3rd quarter of 2021 over the 3rd quarter of 2020 were recorded for the following product groups:
