Russia’s Trade with Hungary

In the 3rd quarter of 2021, Russia’s trade with Hungary totaled $1,714,516,919, up 50.53% ($575,517,422) from the 3rd quarter of 2020.

Russia’s exports to Hungary in the 3rd quarter of 2021 totaled $1,171,540,259, up 78.17% ($513,984,637) from the 3rd quarter of 2020.

Russia’s imports from Hungary in the 3rd quarter of 2021 totaled $542,976,660, up 12.78% ($61,532,785) from the 3rd quarter of 2020.

Russia’s trade surplus with Hungary in the 3rd quarter of 2021 was $628,563,599, a 256.91% increase ($452,451,852) over the 3rd quarter of 2020.

Hungary was Russia’s 26th largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2021 (down from 24th in the 3rd quarter of 2020), accounting for 0.8224% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.8340% in the 3rd quarter of 2020).

Hungary was Russia’s 29th largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2021 (down from 24th in the 3rd quarter of 2020), accounting for 0.8783% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.8360% in the 3rd quarter of 2020).

Hungary was Russia’s 26th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2021 (down from 25th in the 3rd quarter of 2020), accounting for 0.7231% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.8312% in the 3rd quarter of 2020).

Russia’s Exports to Hungary

The major share of Russian exports to Hungary in the 3rd quarter of 2021 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2020) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 90.86% of Russia’s total exports to Hungary (88.76% in the 3rd quarter of 2020);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 5.34% of Russia’s total exports to Hungary (6.08% in the 3rd quarter of 2020);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 1.44% of Russia’s total exports to Hungary (3.17% in the 3rd quarter of 2020).
