Russia’s Trade with Switzerland
In the 3rd quarter of 2021, Russia’s trade with Switzerland totaled $1,740,162,052, up 46.07% ($548,838,463) from the 3rd quarter of 2020.
Russia’s exports to Switzerland in the 3rd quarter of 2021 totaled $804,955,654, up 40.88% ($233,598,292) from the 3rd quarter of 2020.
Russia’s imports from Switzerland in the 3rd quarter of 2021 totaled $935,206,398, up 50.85% ($315,240,171) from the 3rd quarter of 2020.
Russia’s trade deficit with Switzerland in the 3rd quarter of 2021 was $130,250,744, a 167.96% increase ($81,641,879) over the 3rd quarter of 2020.
Switzerland was Russia’s 25th largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2021 (down from 22nd in the 3rd quarter of 2020), accounting for 0.8347% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.8723% in the 3rd quarter of 2020).
Switzerland was Russia’s 36th largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2021 (down from 28th in the 3rd quarter of 2020), accounting for 0.6035% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.7264% in the 3rd quarter of 2020).
Switzerland was Russia’s 17th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2021 (up from 20th in the 3rd quarter of 2020), accounting for 1.2455% of Russia’s total imports (up from 1.0704% in the 3rd quarter of 2020).

The major share of Russian exports to Switzerland in the 3rd quarter of 2021 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2020) was accounted for the following product types:
- Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 48.67% of Russia’s total exports to Switzerland (22.45% in the 3rd quarter of 2020);
- Precious metals and stones (HS code 71) - 25.48% of Russia’s total exports to Switzerland (21.27% in the 3rd quarter of 2020);
- Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 15.58% of Russia’s total exports to Switzerland (7.95% in the 3rd quarter of 2020);
