Russia’s Trade with the Philippines

In the 3rd quarter of 2021, Russia’s trade with the Philippines totaled $265,246,344, up 3.75% ($9,595,494) from the 3rd quarter of 2020.

Russia’s exports to the Philippines in the 3rd quarter of 2021 were $128,169,534, down 12.70% ($18,638,426) from the 3rd quarter of 2020.

Russia’s imports from the Philippines in the 3rd quarter of 2021 totaled $137,076,810, up 25.94% ($28,233,920) from the 3rd quarter of 2020.

Russia’s trade balance with the Philippines went from a surplus of $37,965,070 in the 3rd quarter of 2020, to a deficit of $8,907,276 in the 3rd quarter of 2021.

The Philippines was Russia’s 73rd largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2021 (down from 64th in the 3rd quarter of 2020), accounting for 0.1272% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.1872% in the 3rd quarter of 2020).

The Philippines was Russia’s 71st largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2021 (down from 60th in the 3rd quarter of 2020), accounting for 0.0961% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.1867% in the 3rd quarter of 2020).

The Philippines was Russia’s 57th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2021 (up from 59th in the 3rd quarter of 2020), accounting for 0.1826% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.1879% in the 3rd quarter of 2020).

Russia’s Exports to the Philippines

The major share of Russian exports to the Philippines in the 3rd quarter of 2021 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2020) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 69.43% of Russia’s total exports to the Philippines (28.75% in the 3rd quarter of 2020);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 11.62% of Russia’s total exports to the Philippines (4.03% in the 3rd quarter of 2020);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 6.78% of Russia’s total exports to the Philippines (3.58% in the 3rd quarter of 2020);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 4.20% of Russia’s total exports to the Philippines (62.12% in the 3rd quarter of 2020);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 4.17% of Russia’s total exports to the Philippines (1.11% in the 3rd quarter of 2020);

  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - an increase of $3,581,848;
  • Pharmaceutical products (HS code 30) - an increase of $3,526,550;
  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - an increase of $3,291,196;
  • Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling stock, and parts and accessories thereof (HS code 87) - an increase of $718,613.

Russia’s Imports from the Philippines

The major share of Russian imports from the Philippines in the 3rd quarter of 2021 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2020) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 83.11% of Russia’s total imports from the Philippines (81.27% in the 3rd quarter of 2020);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 8.52% of Russia’s total imports from the Philippines (10.47% in the 3rd quarter of 2020);
