Russia’s Trade with Zimbabwe

In the 3rd quarter of 2021, Russia’s trade with Zimbabwe was $8,969,666, down 52.13% ($9,766,071) from the 3rd quarter of 2020.

Russia’s exports to Zimbabwe in the 3rd quarter of 2021 totaled $3,396,299, up 9,436.15% ($3,360,684) from the 3rd quarter of 2020.

Russia’s imports from Zimbabwe in the 3rd quarter of 2021 were $5,573,367, down 70.20% ($13,126,755) from the 3rd quarter of 2020.

Russia’s trade deficit with Zimbabwe in the 3rd quarter of 2021 was $2,177,068, a 88.34% decrease ($16,487,439) over the 3rd quarter of 2020.

Zimbabwe was Russia’s 144th largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2021 (down from 124th in the 3rd quarter of 2020), accounting for 0.0043% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0137% in the 3rd quarter of 2020).

Zimbabwe was Russia’s 148th largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2021 (up from 179th in the 3rd quarter of 2020), accounting for 0.0025% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0000% in the 3rd quarter of 2020).

Zimbabwe was Russia’s 110th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2021 (down from 89th in the 3rd quarter of 2020), accounting for 0.0074% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0323% in the 3rd quarter of 2020).

Russia’s Imports from Zimbabwe

The major share of Russian imports from Zimbabwe in the 3rd quarter of 2021 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2020) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 98.99% of Russia’s total imports from Zimbabwe (100.00% in the 3rd quarter of 2020).

The largest gains in Russia’s imports from Zimbabwe in the 3rd quarter of 2021 over the 3rd quarter of 2020 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Articles of stone, plaster, cement, asbestos, mica or similar materials (HS code 68) - an increase of $39,561;
  • Raw hides and skins (other than furskins) and leather (HS code 41) - an increase of $16,738.
