Russia’s Trade with Croatia

In 2012, Russia’s trade with Croatia was $716,526,835, down 40.09% ($479,460,456) from 2011.

Russia’s exports to Croatia in 2012 were $364,771,161, down 57.42% ($491,970,857) from 2011.

Russia’s imports from Croatia in 2012 totaled $351,755,674, up 3.69% ($12,510,401) from 2011.

Russia’s trade surplus with Croatia in 2012 was $13,015,487, a 97.48% decrease ($504,481,258) over 2011.

Croatia was Russia’s 74th largest trading partner in 2012 (down from 64th in 2011), accounting for 0.0851% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.1454% in 2011).

Croatia was Russia’s 69th largest export market in 2012 (down from 59th in 2011), accounting for 0.0695% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.1658% in 2011).

Croatia was Russia’s 62nd largest supplier in 2012 (up from 64th in 2011), accounting for 0.1109% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.1110% in 2011).

Russia’s Exports to Croatia

The major share of Russian exports to Croatia in 2012 (and in 2011) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 80.47% of Russia’s total exports to Croatia (90.72% in 2011);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 10.40% of Russia’s total exports to Croatia (5.08% in 2011);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 6.05% of Russia’s total exports to Croatia (2.66% in 2011);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 1.81% of Russia’s total exports to Croatia (1.06% in 2011).

The largest gains in Russia’s exports to Croatia in 2012 over 2011 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Copper and articles thereof (HS code 74) - an increase of $20,079,110;
  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - an increase of $2,833,157.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Croatia in 2012 over 2011 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $484,095,080;
  • Aluminum and articles thereof (HS code 76) - a decrease of $17,758,689;
  • Articles of iron or steel (HS code 73) - a decrease of $10,605,281;

  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 21.03% of Russia’s total imports from Croatia (20.93% in 2011);
  • Textiles, textile products and footwear (HS codes 50-67) - 10.57% of Russia’s total imports from Croatia (9.76% in 2011);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 8.16% of Russia’s total imports from Croatia (7.24% in 2011);
