Russia’s Trade with Jordan

In 2012, Russia’s trade with Jordan totaled $426,428,774, up 21.73% ($76,120,787) from 2011.

Russia’s exports to Jordan in 2012 totaled $405,683,446, up 23.61% ($77,485,962) from 2011.

Russia’s imports from Jordan in 2012 were $20,745,328, down 6.17% ($1,365,175) from 2011.

Russia’s trade surplus with Jordan in 2012 was $384,938,118, a 25.76% increase ($78,851,137) over 2011.

Jordan was Russia’s 85th largest trading partner in 2012 (up from 89th in 2011), accounting for 0.0506% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0426% in 2011).

Jordan was Russia’s 67th largest export market in 2012 (up from 76th in 2011), accounting for 0.0773% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0635% in 2011).

Jordan was Russia’s 107th largest supplier in 2012 (up from 110th in 2011), accounting for 0.0065% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0072% in 2011).

Russia’s Exports to Jordan

The major share of Russian exports to Jordan in 2012 (and in 2011) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 40.51% of Russia’s total exports to Jordan (21.52% in 2011);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 21.27% of Russia’s total exports to Jordan (33.95% in 2011);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 20.92% of Russia’s total exports to Jordan (11.94% in 2011);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 2.20% of Russia’s total exports to Jordan (2.34% in 2011).

The largest gains in Russia’s exports to Jordan in 2012 over 2011 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Cereals (HS code 10) - an increase of $91,915,036;
  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - an increase of $46,293,968;
  • Wood and articles of wood; wood charcoal (HS code 44) - an increase of $2,568,732;
  • Tobacco and manufactured tobacco substitutes (HS code 24) - an increase of $1,438,612.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Jordan in 2012 over 2011 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $25,124,053;
  • Printed books, newspapers, pictures and other products of the printing industry; manuscripts, typescripts and plans (HS code 49) - a decrease of $1,613,696.

Russia’s Imports from Jordan

The major share of Russian imports from Jordan in 2012 (and in 2011) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 79.83% of Russia’s total imports from Jordan (85.22% in 2011);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 15.43% of Russia’s total imports from Jordan (11.99% in 2011);
  • Textiles, textile products and footwear (HS codes 50-67) - 2.17% of Russia’s total imports from Jordan (1.63% in 2011);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 1.82% of Russia’s total imports from Jordan (0.29% in 2011).
