Russia’s Trade with Turkey

In 2012, Russia’s trade with Turkey totaled $34,278,891,980, up 8.10% ($2,569,052,083) from 2011.

Russia’s exports to Turkey in 2012 totaled $27,418,742,798, up 8.16% ($2,068,543,070) from 2011.

Russia’s imports from Turkey in 2012 totaled $6,860,149,182, up 7.87% ($500,509,013) from 2011.

Russia’s trade surplus with Turkey in 2012 was $20,558,593,616, a 8.26% increase ($1,568,034,057) over 2011.

Turkey was Russia’s 7th largest trading partner in 2012 (just as in 2011), accounting for 4.0711% of Russia’s total trade (up from 3.8554% in 2011).

Turkey was Russia’s 5th largest export market in 2012 (up from 6th in 2011), accounting for 5.2253% of Russia’s total exports (up from 4.9060% in 2011).

Turkey was Russia’s 13th largest supplier in 2012 (just as in 2011), accounting for 2.1623% of Russia’s total imports (up from 2.0799% in 2011).

Russia’s Exports to Turkey

The major share of Russian exports to Turkey in 2012 (and in 2011) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 74.44% of Russia’s total exports to Turkey (72.63% in 2011);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 12.89% of Russia’s total exports to Turkey (16.67% in 2011);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 7.07% of Russia’s total exports to Turkey (3.95% in 2011);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 4.27% of Russia’s total exports to Turkey (5.09% in 2011);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 0.94% of Russia’s total exports to Turkey (1.12% in 2011).
