In 2013, Russia’s trade with Iraq totaled $378,556,393, up 32.47% ($92,789,499) from 2012.

Russia’s exports to Iraq in 2013 totaled $376,851,659, up 31.90% ($91,146,674) from 2012.

Russia’s imports from Iraq in 2013 totaled $1,704,734, up 2,653.61% ($1,642,825) from 2012.

Russia’s trade surplus with Iraq in 2013 was $375,146,925, a 31.33% increase ($89,503,849) over 2012.

Iraq was Russia’s 87th largest trading partner in 2013 (just as in 2012), accounting for 0.0449% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0339% in 2012).

Iraq was Russia’s 74th largest export market in 2013 (up from 76th in 2012), accounting for 0.0715% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0544% in 2012).

Iraq was Russia’s 146th largest supplier in 2013 (up from 177th in 2012), accounting for 0.0005% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0000% in 2012).

Russia’s Exports to Iraq

The major share of Russian exports to Iraq in 2013 (and in 2012) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 24.18% of Russia’s total exports to Iraq (17.13% in 2012);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 10.72% of Russia’s total exports to Iraq (6.97% in 2012);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 9.07% of Russia’s total exports to Iraq (4.14% in 2012);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 8.40% of Russia’s total exports to Iraq (70.47% in 2012);

  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - an increase of $10,874,089;
  • Optical, photographic, cinematographic, measuring, checking, precision, medical or surgical instruments and apparatus; parts and accessories thereof (HS code 90) - an increase of $9,764,752;
  • Tobacco and manufactured tobacco substitutes (HS code 24) - an increase of $3,687,856;
  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - an increase of $3,249,421;
  • Copper and articles thereof (HS code 74) - an increase of $2,906,269;
  • Pharmaceutical products (HS code 30) - an increase of $2,860,000.
