In 2013, Russia’s trade with Malta totaled $4,136,048,471, up 76.78% ($1,796,386,389) from 2012.

Russia’s exports to Malta in 2013 totaled $4,084,461,107, up 77.17% ($1,779,114,766) from 2012.

Russia’s imports from Malta in 2013 totaled $51,587,364, up 50.33% ($17,271,623) from 2012.

Russia’s trade surplus with Malta in 2013 was $4,032,873,743, a 77.58% increase ($1,761,843,143) over 2012.

Malta was Russia’s 31st largest trading partner in 2013 (up from 44th in 2012), accounting for 0.4911% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.2779% in 2012).

Malta was Russia’s 28th largest export market in 2013 (up from 34th in 2012), accounting for 0.7746% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.4393% in 2012).

Malta was Russia’s 93rd largest supplier in 2013 (up from 101st in 2012), accounting for 0.0164% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0108% in 2012).

Russia’s Imports from Malta

The major share of Russian imports from Malta in 2013 (and in 2012) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 56.48% of Russia’s total imports from Malta (65.17% in 2012);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 40.78% of Russia’s total imports from Malta (30.43% in 2012);
  • Textiles, textile products and footwear (HS codes 50-67) - 0.61% of Russia’s total imports from Malta (1.17% in 2012).

The largest gains in Russia’s imports from Malta in 2013 over 2012 were recorded for the following product groups:
