Russia’s Trade with Venezuela

In 2013, Russia’s trade with Venezuela totaled $2,450,632,490, up 26.01% ($505,898,877) from 2012.

Russia’s exports to Venezuela in 2013 totaled $2,446,530,415, up 25.86% ($502,623,068) from 2012.

Russia’s imports from Venezuela in 2013 totaled $4,102,075, up 396.46% ($3,275,809) from 2012.

Russia’s trade surplus with Venezuela in 2013 was $2,442,428,340, a 25.70% increase ($499,347,259) over 2012.

Venezuela was Russia’s 46th largest trading partner in 2013 (up from 49th in 2012), accounting for 0.2910% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.2310% in 2012).

Venezuela was Russia’s 34th largest export market in 2013 (up from 37th in 2012), accounting for 0.4640% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.3705% in 2012).

Venezuela was Russia’s 132nd largest supplier in 2013 (up from 150th in 2012), accounting for 0.0013% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0003% in 2012).

The major share of Russian exports to Venezuela in 2013 (and in 2012) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 35.79% of Russia’s total exports to Venezuela (50.31% in 2012);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 4.68% of Russia’s total exports to Venezuela (5.58% in 2012);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 0.21% of Russia’s total exports to Venezuela (1.09% in 2012);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 0.17% of Russia’s total exports to Venezuela (2.81% in 2012).

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 7.78% of Russia’s total imports from Venezuela (7.23% in 2012);
