Russia’s exports to Ghana in 2014 were $60,090,519, down 12.69% ($8,731,937) from 2013.

Russia’s imports from Ghana in 2014 totaled $102,717,793, up 9.24% ($8,691,926) from 2013.

Russia’s trade deficit with Ghana in 2014 was $42,627,274, a 69.13% increase ($17,423,863) over 2013.

Ghana was Russia’s 104th largest trading partner in 2014 (down from 103rd in 2013), accounting for 0.0208% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0193% in 2013).

Ghana was Russia’s 107th largest export market in 2014 (down from 106th in 2013), accounting for 0.0121% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0131% in 2013).

Ghana was Russia’s 83rd largest supplier in 2014 (up from 85th in 2013), accounting for 0.0359% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0299% in 2013).

Russia’s Exports to Ghana

The major share of Russian exports to Ghana in 2014 (and in 2013) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 34.32% of Russia’s total exports to Ghana (51.34% in 2013);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 24.09% of Russia’s total exports to Ghana (13.63% in 2013);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 21.59% of Russia’s total exports to Ghana (4.59% in 2013);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 11.79% of Russia’s total exports to Ghana (19.72% in 2013);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 4.13% of Russia’s total exports to Ghana (7.77% in 2013);

  • Cereals (HS code 10) - an increase of $6,192,626;
  • Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling stock, and parts and accessories thereof (HS code 87) - an increase of $1,956,742;
  • Inorganic chemicals; organic or inorganic compounds of precious metals, of rare-earth metals,of radioactive elements or of isotopes (HS code 28) - an increase of $484,901.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Ghana in 2014 over 2013 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Fertilizers (HS code 31) - a decrease of $14,810,993;
  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - a decrease of $6,486,500;
  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $2,882,727;
  • Salt; sulfur; earths and stone; plastering materials, lime and cement (HS code 25) - a decrease of $1,467,630;
  • Meat and edible meat offal (HS code 02) - a decrease of $1,068,475;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - a decrease of $1,064,652;
  • Pharmaceutical products (HS code 30) - a decrease of $471,660.
