Russia’s exports to Iraq in 2014 totaled $1,758,512,608, up 366.63% ($1,381,660,949) from 2013.

Russia’s imports from Iraq in 2014 were $13,612, down 99.20% ($1,691,122) from 2013.

Russia’s trade surplus with Iraq in 2014 was $1,758,498,996, a 368.75% increase ($1,383,352,071) over 2013.

Iraq was Russia’s 52nd largest trading partner in 2014 (up from 87th in 2013), accounting for 0.2246% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0449% in 2013).

Iraq was Russia’s 38th largest export market in 2014 (up from 74th in 2013), accounting for 0.3539% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0715% in 2013).

Iraq was Russia’s 193rd largest supplier in 2014 (down from 146th in 2013), accounting for 0.0000% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0005% in 2013).

The major share of Russian exports to Iraq in 2014 (and in 2013) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 7.30% of Russia’s total exports to Iraq (10.72% in 2013);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 2.57% of Russia’s total exports to Iraq (9.07% in 2013);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 2.27% of Russia’s total exports to Iraq (8.40% in 2013);

  • Wood and articles of wood; wood charcoal (HS code 44) - an increase of $11,137,102;
  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - an increase of $7,117,581;

Russia’s Imports from Iraq

The major share of Russian imports from Iraq in 2014 (and in 2013) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 78.39% of Russia’s total imports from Iraq (99.91% in 2013);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 5.18% of Russia’s total imports from Iraq (0.09% in 2013).

The largest gains in Russia’s imports from Iraq in 2014 over 2013 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Clocks and watches and parts thereof (HS code 91) - an increase of $303;
  • Rubber and articles thereof (HS code 40) - an increase of $133;
  • Printed books, newspapers, pictures and other products of the printing industry; manuscripts, typescripts and plans (HS code 49) - an increase of $113.

  • Optical, photographic, cinematographic, measuring, checking, precision, medical or surgical instruments and apparatus; parts and accessories thereof (HS code 90) - a decrease of $97,641;
  • Railway or tramway locomotives, rolling-stock and parts thereof; railway or tramway track fixtures and fittings and parts thereof; mechanical (including electro-mechanical) traffic signalling equipment of all kinds (HS code 86) - a decrease of $45,391;
  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - a decrease of $3,523;
  • Articles of iron or steel (HS code 73) - a decrease of $434;
