In 2015, Russia’s trade with Afghanistan was $159,022,358, down 83.53% ($806,779,650) from 2014.

Russia’s exports to Afghanistan in 2015 were $149,916,879, down 84.27% ($802,988,040) from 2014.

Russia’s imports from Afghanistan in 2015 were $9,105,479, down 29.40% ($3,791,610) from 2014.

Russia’s trade surplus with Afghanistan in 2015 was $140,811,400, a 85.02% decrease ($799,196,430) over 2014.

Afghanistan was Russia’s 99th largest trading partner in 2015 (down from 68th in 2014), accounting for 0.0302% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.1234% in 2014).

Afghanistan was Russia’s 89th largest export market in 2015 (down from 56th in 2014), accounting for 0.0436% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.1918% in 2014).

Afghanistan was Russia’s 113th largest supplier in 2015 (up from 117th in 2014), accounting for 0.0050% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0045% in 2014).

Russia’s Exports to Afghanistan

The major share of Russian exports to Afghanistan in 2015 (and in 2014) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 24.40% of Russia’s total exports to Afghanistan (24.46% in 2014);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 23.19% of Russia’s total exports to Afghanistan (4.22% in 2014);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 21.07% of Russia’s total exports to Afghanistan (8.12% in 2014);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 20.75% of Russia’s total exports to Afghanistan (3.14% in 2014);
