Russia's Trade with Brazil
In the 1st quarter of 2016, Russia's trade with Brazil was $792,481,494, down 27.42% ($299,320,676) from the 1st quarter of 2015.
Russia's exports to Brazil in the 1st quarter of 2016 were $283,704,933, down 46.92% ($250,753,027) from the 1st quarter of 2015.
Russia's imports from Brazil in the 1st quarter of 2016 were $508,776,561, down 8.71% ($48,567,649) from the 1st quarter of 2015.
Russia's trade deficit with Brazil in the 1st quarter of 2016 was $225,071,628, a 883.44% increase ($202,185,378) over the 1st quarter of 2015.
Brazil was Russia's 27the largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2016 (down from 25th in the 1st quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.8144% of Russia's total trade (down from 0.8253% in the 1st quarter of 2015).
Brazil was Russia's 39th largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2016 (down from 34th in the 1st quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.4623% of Russia's total exports (down from 0.5921% in the 1st quarter of 2015).
Brazil was Russia's 18th largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2016 (down from 17th in the 1st quarter of 2015), accounting for 1.4157% of Russia's total imports (up from 1.3260% in the 1st quarter of 2015).
Russia's Exports to Brazil
The major share of Russian exports to Brazil in the 1st quarter of 2016 (and in the 1st quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:
- Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 83.20% of Russia's total exports to Brazil (86.13% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
- Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 9.30% of Russia's total exports to Brazil (8.10% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
- Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 1.33% of Russia's total exports to Brazil (0.43% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
- Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 0.93% of Russia's total exports to Brazil (4.66% in the 1st quarter of 2015).
The largest gains in Russia's exports to Brazil in the 1st quarter of 2016 over the 1st quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

- Preparations of cereals, flour, starch or milk; bakers’ wares (HS code 19) - an increase of $1,167,680;
- Aluminum and articles thereof (HS code 76) - an increase of $881,566.
The largest declines in Russia's exports to Brazil in the 1st quarter of 2016 over the 1st quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:
