Russia's Trade with Belarus

In the 2nd quarter of 2016, Russia's trade with Belarus was $6,226,389,296, down 3.73% ($241,537,776) from the 2nd quarter of 2015.

Russia's exports to Belarus in the 2nd quarter of 2016 were $3,781,779,472, down 8.24% ($339,751,483) from the 2nd quarter of 2015.

Russia's imports from Belarus in the 2nd quarter of 2016 totaled $2,444,609,824, up 4.19% ($98,213,707) from the 2nd quarter of 2015.

Russia's trade surplus with Belarus in the 2nd quarter of 2016 was $1,337,169,648, a 24.67% decrease ($437,965,190) over the 2nd quarter of 2015.

Belarus was Russia's 4th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2016 (up from 5th in the 2nd quarter of 2015), accounting for 5.7208% of Russia's total trade (up from 4.7441% in the 2nd quarter of 2015).

Belarus was Russia's 4th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2016 (up from 6th in the 2nd quarter of 2015), accounting for 5.6914% of Russia's total exports (up from 4.5021% in the 2nd quarter of 2015).

Belarus was Russia's 3rd largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2016 (up from 4th in the 2nd quarter of 2015), accounting for 5.7668% of Russia's total imports (up from 5.2388% in the 2nd quarter of 2015).

Russia's Exports to Belarus

The major share of Russian exports to Belarus in the 2nd quarter of 2016 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 56.90% of Russia's total exports to Belarus (59.97% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 10.64% of Russia's total exports to Belarus (8.64% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
