Russia's Trade with Slovenia

In the 2nd quarter of 2016, Russia's trade with Slovenia totaled $259,477,479, up 2.45% ($6,207,707) from the 2nd quarter of 2015.

Russia's exports to Slovenia in the 2nd quarter of 2016 totaled $83,560,832, up 102.46% ($42,287,970) from the 2nd quarter of 2015.

Russia's imports from Slovenia in the 2nd quarter of 2016 were $175,916,647, down 17.02% ($36,080,263) from the 2nd quarter of 2015.

Russia's trade deficit with Slovenia in the 2nd quarter of 2016 was $92,355,815, a 45.90% decrease ($78,368,233) over the 2nd quarter of 2015.

Slovenia was Russia's 54th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2016 (up from 56th in the 2nd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.2384% of Russia's total trade (up from 0.1858% in the 2nd quarter of 2015).

Slovenia was Russia's 69th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2016 (up from 88th in the 2nd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.1258% of Russia's total exports (up from 0.0451% in the 2nd quarter of 2015).

Slovenia was Russia's 40th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2016 (down from 37th in the 2nd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.4150% of Russia's total imports (down from 0.4733% in the 2nd quarter of 2015).

Russia's Exports to Slovenia

The major share of Russian exports to Slovenia in the 2nd quarter of 2016 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 69.18% of Russia's total exports to Slovenia (45.92% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 24.13% of Russia's total exports to Slovenia (37.17% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 4.27% of Russia's total exports to Slovenia (8.13% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 0.99% of Russia's total exports to Slovenia (2.50% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 0.37% of Russia's total exports to Slovenia (1.80% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 0.21% of Russia's total exports to Slovenia (3.13% in the 2nd quarter of 2015).

The largest gains in Russia's exports to Slovenia in the 2nd quarter of 2016 over the 2nd quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - an increase of $38,858,774;
  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - an increase of $7,446,029;
  • Fertilizers (HS code 31) - an increase of $825,117;
  • Tools, implements, cutlery, spoons and forks, of base metal; parts thereof of base metal (HS code 82) - an increase of $364,238.

The largest declines in Russia's exports to Slovenia in the 2nd quarter of 2016 over the 2nd quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Aluminum and articles thereof (HS code 76) - a decrease of $2,576,410;
  • Products of animal origin, not elsewhere specified or included (HS code 05) - a decrease of $1,105,357;
  • Lead and articles thereof (HS code 78) - a decrease of $665,162;
  • Inorganic chemicals; organic or inorganic compounds of precious metals, of rare-earth metals,of radioactive elements or of isotopes (HS code 28) - a decrease of $398,472;
  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - a decrease of $380,930;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - a decrease of $344,137;
  • Pharmaceutical products (HS code 30) - a decrease of $289,311.

Russia's Imports from Slovenia

The major share of Russian imports from Slovenia in the 2nd quarter of 2016 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 59.15% of Russia's total imports from Slovenia (59.63% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 25.42% of Russia's total imports from Slovenia (25.84% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 6.33% of Russia's total imports from Slovenia (5.48% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 3.36% of Russia's total imports from Slovenia (3.45% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 2.71% of Russia's total imports from Slovenia (2.40% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);

  • Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling stock, and parts and accessories thereof (HS code 87) - an increase of $884,750;
  • Optical, photographic, cinematographic, measuring, checking, precision, medical or surgical instruments and apparatus; parts and accessories thereof (HS code 90) - an increase of $804,464;
  • Rubber and articles thereof (HS code 40) - an increase of $611,922.

The largest declines in Russia's imports from Slovenia in the 2nd quarter of 2016 over the 2nd quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Pharmaceutical products (HS code 30) - a decrease of $18,741,412;
  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - a decrease of $5,924,406;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - a decrease of $5,520,692;
  • Tanning or dyeing extracts; dyes, pigments, paints, varnishes, putty and mastics (HS code 32) - a decrease of $5,504,853;
  • Furniture; bedding, mattresses, mattress supports, cushions and similar stuffed furnishings; lamps and lighting fittings, not elsewhere specified or included; illuminated sign illuminated nameplates and the like; prefabricated buildings (HS code 94) - a decrease of $1,846,097;
  • Miscellaneous edible preparations (HS code 21) - a decrease of $1,009,287;
