Russia’s Trade with Brazil
In 2016, Russia’s trade with Brazil was $4,309,030,517, down 10.95% ($529,964,884) from 2015.
Russia’s exports to Brazil in 2016 were $1,785,571,072, down 7.21% ($138,706,888) from 2015.
Russia’s imports from Brazil in 2016 were $2,523,459,445, down 13.42% ($391,257,996) from 2015.
Russia’s trade deficit with Brazil in 2016 was $737,888,373, a 25.50% decrease ($252,551,108) over 2015.
Brazil was Russia’s 23rd largest trading partner in 2016 (down from 22nd in 2015), accounting for 0.9212% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.9195% in 2015).
Brazil was Russia’s 37th largest export market in 2016 (down from 36th in 2015), accounting for 0.6254% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.5600% in 2015).
Brazil was Russia’s 15th largest supplier in 2016 (just as in 2015), accounting for 1.3845% of Russia’s total imports (down from 1.5956% in 2015).
Russia’s Exports to Brazil
The major share of Russian exports to Brazil in 2016 (and in 2015) was accounted for the following product types:
- Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 72.44% of Russia’s total exports to Brazil (86.62% in 2015);
- Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 21.72% of Russia’s total exports to Brazil (8.25% in 2015);
- Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 2.37% of Russia’s total exports to Brazil (3.81% in 2015);
- Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 1.88% of Russia’s total exports to Brazil (0.49% in 2015).
