Russia’s Trade with Denmark

In the 4th quarter of 2016, Russia’s trade with Denmark totaled $647,439,647, up 4.28% ($26,587,963) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s exports to Denmark in the 4th quarter of 2016 totaled $433,966,550, up 10.06% ($39,661,449) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s imports from Denmark in the 4th quarter of 2016 were $213,473,097, down 5.77% ($13,073,486) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s trade surplus with Denmark in the 4th quarter of 2016 was $220,493,453, a 31.44% increase ($52,734,935) over the 4th quarter of 2015.

Denmark was Russia’s 41st largest trading partner in the 4th quarter of 2016 (down from 37th in the 4th quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.4751% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.4748% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

Denmark was Russia’s 40th largest export market in the 4th quarter of 2016 (down from 39th in the 4th quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.5176% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.4783% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

Denmark was Russia’s 40th largest supplier in the 4th quarter of 2016 (down from 36th in the 4th quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.4071% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.4687% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

Russia’s Exports to Denmark

The major share of Russian exports to Denmark in the 4th quarter of 2016 (and in the 4th quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 71.25% of Russia’s total exports to Denmark (70.25% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 16.92% of Russia’s total exports to Denmark (15.63% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 5.17% of Russia’s total exports to Denmark (4.64% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 4.11% of Russia’s total exports to Denmark (5.51% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 2.00% of Russia’s total exports to Denmark (3.50% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

The largest gains in Russia’s exports to Denmark in the 4th quarter of 2016 over the 4th quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - an increase of $32,211,356;
  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - an increase of $9,187,869;
  • Animal or vegetable fats and oils and their cleavage products prepared edible fats; animal or vegetable waxes (HS code 15) - an increase of $2,331,181;
  • Residues and waste from the food industries; prepared animal feed (HS code 23) - an increase of $2,243,305.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Denmark in the 4th quarter of 2016 over the 4th quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Fertilizers (HS code 31) - a decrease of $3,831,450;
  • Wood and articles of wood; wood charcoal (HS code 44) - a decrease of $3,617,559.

Russia’s Imports from Denmark

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 32.69% of Russia’s total imports from Denmark (37.44% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 18.79% of Russia’s total imports from Denmark (14.15% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
