Russia’s Trade with Turkey

In the 4th quarter of 2016, Russia’s trade with Turkey was $4,750,456,972, down 10.55% ($560,076,495) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s exports to Turkey in the 4th quarter of 2016 were $3,937,468,850, down 9.16% ($396,967,109) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s imports from Turkey in the 4th quarter of 2016 were $812,988,122, down 16.71% ($163,109,386) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s trade surplus with Turkey in the 4th quarter of 2016 was $3,124,480,728, a 6.96% decrease ($233,857,723) over the 4th quarter of 2015.

Turkey was Russia’s 7th largest trading partner in the 4th quarter of 2016 (down from 6th in the 4th quarter of 2015), accounting for 3.4861% of Russia’s total trade (down from 4.0610% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

Turkey was Russia’s 4th largest export market in the 4th quarter of 2016 (just as in the 4th quarter of 2015), accounting for 4.6966% of Russia’s total exports (down from 5.2582% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

Turkey was Russia’s 15th largest supplier in the 4th quarter of 2016 (down from 11th in the 4th quarter of 2015), accounting for 1.5506% of Russia’s total imports (down from 2.0194% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

Russia’s Exports to Turkey

The major share of Russian exports to Turkey in the 4th quarter of 2016 (and in the 4th quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 53.21% of Russia’s total exports to Turkey (59.97% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 26.53% of Russia’s total exports to Turkey (20.75% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 13.64% of Russia’s total exports to Turkey (13.31% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 4.22% of Russia’s total exports to Turkey (3.91% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
