Russia’s Trade with the Dominican Republic

In the 1st quarter of 2017, Russia’s trade with the Dominican Republic totaled $18,011,418, up 121.60% ($9,883,347) from the 1st quarter of 2016.

Russia’s exports to the Dominican Republic in the 1st quarter of 2017 totaled $14,770,303, up 155.21% ($8,982,848) from the 1st quarter of 2016.

Russia’s imports from the Dominican Republic in the 1st quarter of 2017 totaled $3,241,115, up 38.47% ($900,499) from the 1st quarter of 2016.

Russia’s trade surplus with the Dominican Republic in the 1st quarter of 2017 was $11,529,188, a 234.49% increase ($8,082,349) over the 1st quarter of 2016.

The Dominican Republic was Russia’s 116th largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2017 (up from 127th in the 1st quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0140% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0084% in the 1st quarter of 2016).

The Dominican Republic was Russia’s 105th largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2017 (up from 122nd in the 1st quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0177% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0094% in the 1st quarter of 2016).

The Dominican Republic was Russia’s 109th largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2017 (up from 111th in the 1st quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0072% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0065% in the 1st quarter of 2016).

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to the Dominican Republic in the 1st quarter of 2017 over the 1st quarter of 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Cereals (HS code 10) - a decrease of $2,144,141;
  • Inorganic chemicals; organic or inorganic compounds of precious metals, of rare-earth metals,of radioactive elements or of isotopes (HS code 28) - a decrease of $513,132;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - a decrease of $58,850.

Russia’s Imports from the Dominican Republic

  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 33.90% of Russia’s total imports from the Dominican Republic (12.33% in the 1st quarter of 2016);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 11.86% of Russia’s total imports from the Dominican Republic (37.54% in the 1st quarter of 2016);
