Russia’s Trade with Kuwait

In the 2nd quarter of 2017, Russia’s trade with Kuwait totaled $157,668,282, up 33.97% ($39,978,457) from the 2nd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s exports to Kuwait in the 2nd quarter of 2017 totaled $157,648,782, up 33.96% ($39,962,242) from the 2nd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s imports from Kuwait in the 2nd quarter of 2017 totaled $19,500, up 493.61% ($16,215) from the 2nd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s trade surplus with Kuwait in the 2nd quarter of 2017 was $157,629,282, a 33.94% increase ($39,946,027) over the 2nd quarter of 2016.

Kuwait was Russia’s 70th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (up from 74th in the 2nd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.1128% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.1081% in the 2nd quarter of 2016).

Kuwait was Russia’s 58th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (up from 60th in the 2nd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.1877% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.1771% in the 2nd quarter of 2016).

Kuwait was Russia’s 167th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (up from 175th in the 2nd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0000% of Russia’s total imports (just as in the 2nd quarter of 2016).

Russia’s Exports to Kuwait

The major share of Russian exports to Kuwait in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 97.39% of Russia’s total exports to Kuwait (97.82% in the 2nd quarter of 2016);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 1.46% of Russia’s total exports to Kuwait (0.59% in the 2nd quarter of 2016);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 0.73% of Russia’s total exports to Kuwait (1.35% in the 2nd quarter of 2016).

The largest gains in Russia’s exports to Kuwait in the 2nd quarter of 2017 over the 2nd quarter of 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - an increase of $1,042,532;
  • Wood and articles of wood; wood charcoal (HS code 44) - an increase of $567,490;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - an increase of $521,970.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Kuwait in the 2nd quarter of 2017 over the 2nd quarter of 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - a decrease of $1,372,754.
