Russia’s Trade with Montenegro

In the 2nd quarter of 2017, Russia’s trade with Montenegro totaled $2,965,210, up 2.93% ($84,400) from the 2nd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s exports to Montenegro in the 2nd quarter of 2017 totaled $1,805,305, up 0.22% ($3,906) from the 2nd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s imports from Montenegro in the 2nd quarter of 2017 totaled $1,159,905, up 7.46% ($80,494) from the 2nd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s trade surplus with Montenegro in the 2nd quarter of 2017 was $645,400, a 10.61% decrease ($76,588) over the 2nd quarter of 2016.

Montenegro was Russia’s 153rd largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (down from 140th in the 2nd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0021% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0026% in the 2nd quarter of 2016).

Montenegro was Russia’s 147th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (down from 135th in the 2nd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0021% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0027% in the 2nd quarter of 2016).

Montenegro was Russia’s 126th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (up from 128th in the 2nd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0021% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0025% in the 2nd quarter of 2016).

Russia’s Exports to Montenegro

The major share of Russian exports to Montenegro in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 39.12% of Russia’s total exports to Montenegro (6.31% in the 2nd quarter of 2016);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 26.80% of Russia’s total exports to Montenegro (21.98% in the 2nd quarter of 2016);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 19.30% of Russia’s total exports to Montenegro (38.02% in the 2nd quarter of 2016);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 13.20% of Russia’s total exports to Montenegro (11.51% in the 2nd quarter of 2016);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 1.45% of Russia’s total exports to Montenegro (3.58% in the 2nd quarter of 2016);

  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - an increase of $265,609;
  • Tobacco and manufactured tobacco substitutes (HS code 24) - an increase of $85,780;
  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - an increase of $31,019;
  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - an increase of $27,004;
  • Pharmaceutical products (HS code 30) - an increase of $22,797;
  • Optical, photographic, cinematographic, measuring, checking, precision, medical or surgical instruments and apparatus; parts and accessories thereof (HS code 90) - an increase of $11,659;
  • Cocoa and cocoa preparations (HS code 18) - an increase of $11,126;
  • Miscellaneous edible preparations (HS code 21) - an increase of $7,405.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Montenegro in the 2nd quarter of 2017 over the 2nd quarter of 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Aluminum and articles thereof (HS code 76) - a decrease of $348,774;
  • Wood and articles of wood; wood charcoal (HS code 44) - a decrease of $164,141;
  • Ceramic products (HS code 69) - a decrease of $105,373;
  • Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling stock, and parts and accessories thereof (HS code 87) - a decrease of $45,274;
  • Furniture; bedding, mattresses, mattress supports, cushions and similar stuffed furnishings; lamps and lighting fittings, not elsewhere specified or included; illuminated sign illuminated nameplates and the like; prefabricated buildings (HS code 94) - a decrease of $40,520;
  • Rubber and articles thereof (HS code 40) - a decrease of $38,771;
  • Inorganic chemicals; organic or inorganic compounds of precious metals, of rare-earth metals,of radioactive elements or of isotopes (HS code 28) - a decrease of $16,800;
  • Toys, games and sports requisites; parts and accessories thereof (HS code 95) - a decrease of $15,603;
  • Miscellaneous articles of base metal (HS code 83) - a decrease of $12,922;
  • Beverages, spirits and vinegar (HS code 22) - a decrease of $10,627.

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 28.97% of Russia’s total imports from Montenegro (25.70% in the 2nd quarter of 2016);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 1.19% of Russia’s total imports from Montenegro (53.87% in the 2nd quarter of 2016);
