Russia’s Trade with Georgia

In the 4th quarter of 2017, Russia’s trade with Georgia totaled $345,632,345, up 43.08% ($104,066,553) from the 4th quarter of 2016.

Russia’s exports to Georgia in the 4th quarter of 2017 totaled $224,732,193, up 30.86% ($52,994,993) from the 4th quarter of 2016.

Russia’s imports from Georgia in the 4th quarter of 2017 totaled $120,900,152, up 73.14% ($51,071,560) from the 4th quarter of 2016.

Russia’s trade surplus with Georgia in the 4th quarter of 2017 was $103,832,041, a 1.89% increase ($1,923,433) over the 4th quarter of 2016.

Georgia was Russia’s 60th largest trading partner in the 4th quarter of 2017 (up from 64th in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.2068% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.1773% in the 4th quarter of 2016).

Georgia was Russia’s 58th largest export market in the 4th quarter of 2017 (up from 61st in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.2185% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.2048% in the 4th quarter of 2016).

Georgia was Russia’s 61st largest supplier in the 4th quarter of 2017 (up from 63rd in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.1881% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.1332% in the 4th quarter of 2016).

Russia’s Exports to Georgia

The major share of Russian exports to Georgia in the 4th quarter of 2017 (and in the 4th quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 35.86% of Russia’s total exports to Georgia (38.49% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 27.81% of Russia’s total exports to Georgia (20.22% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 15.32% of Russia’s total exports to Georgia (21.09% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 9.85% of Russia’s total exports to Georgia (10.61% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 3.89% of Russia’s total exports to Georgia (1.73% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
