Russia’s Trade with Israel

In the 4th quarter of 2017, Russia’s trade with Israel totaled $634,275,789, up 0.07% ($413,385) from the 4th quarter of 2016.

Russia’s exports to Israel in the 4th quarter of 2017 were $420,490,197, down 1.22% ($5,209,865) from the 4th quarter of 2016.

Russia’s imports from Israel in the 4th quarter of 2017 totaled $213,785,592, up 2.70% ($5,623,250) from the 4th quarter of 2016.

Russia’s trade surplus with Israel in the 4th quarter of 2017 was $206,704,605, a 4.98% decrease ($10,833,115) over the 4th quarter of 2016.

Israel was Russia’s 45th largest trading partner in the 4th quarter of 2017 (down from 42nd in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.3795% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.4652% in the 4th quarter of 2016).

Israel was Russia’s 46th largest export market in the 4th quarter of 2017 (down from 41st in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.4088% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.5078% in the 4th quarter of 2016).

Israel was Russia’s 43rd largest supplier in the 4th quarter of 2017 (down from 41st in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.3326% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.3970% in the 4th quarter of 2016).

Russia’s Exports to Israel

The major share of Russian exports to Israel in the 4th quarter of 2017 (and in the 4th quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Precious metals and stones (HS code 71) - 30.27% of Russia’s total exports to Israel (28.41% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 29.84% of Russia’s total exports to Israel (46.83% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 12.77% of Russia’s total exports to Israel (9.30% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 9.94% of Russia’s total exports to Israel (8.84% in the 4th quarter of 2016);

  • Natural or cultured pearls, precious or semi-precious stones,precious metals, metals clad with precious metal and articles thereof; imitation jewelry; coin (HS code 71) - an increase of $6,361,534;
  • Fertilizers (HS code 31) - an increase of $1,999,124;
  • Wood and articles of wood; wood charcoal (HS code 44) - an increase of $1,866,460;
  • Animal or vegetable fats and oils and their cleavage products prepared edible fats; animal or vegetable waxes (HS code 15) - an increase of $1,280,869.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Israel in the 4th quarter of 2017 over the 4th quarter of 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $74,971,101;
  • Other base metals; cermets; articles thereof (HS code 81) - a decrease of $1,841,506.
