Russia’s Trade with Malta

In the 4th quarter of 2017, Russia’s trade with Malta was $470,245,429, down 6.79% ($34,256,507) from the 4th quarter of 2016.

Russia’s exports to Malta in the 4th quarter of 2017 were $463,233,605, down 6.39% ($31,609,720) from the 4th quarter of 2016.

Russia’s imports from Malta in the 4th quarter of 2017 were $7,011,824, down 27.40% ($2,646,787) from the 4th quarter of 2016.

Russia’s trade surplus with Malta in the 4th quarter of 2017 was $456,221,781, a 5.97% decrease ($28,962,933) over the 4th quarter of 2016.

Malta was Russia’s 52nd largest trading partner in the 4th quarter of 2017 (down from 47th in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.2813% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.3702% in the 4th quarter of 2016).

Malta was Russia’s 42nd largest export market in the 4th quarter of 2017 (down from 37th in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.4503% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.5902% in the 4th quarter of 2016).

Malta was Russia’s 100th largest supplier in the 4th quarter of 2017 (down from 95th in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0109% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0184% in the 4th quarter of 2016).

Russia’s Exports to Malta

The major share of Russian exports to Malta in the 4th quarter of 2017 (and in the 4th quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 99.68% of Russia’s total exports to Malta (98.39% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 0.02% of Russia’s total exports to Malta (1.09% in the 4th quarter of 2016).

The largest gains in Russia’s exports to Malta in the 4th quarter of 2017 over the 4th quarter of 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:

Russia’s Imports from Malta

The major share of Russian imports from Malta in the 4th quarter of 2017 (and in the 4th quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 70.97% of Russia’s total imports from Malta (69.83% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 27.15% of Russia’s total imports from Malta (28.13% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
  • Textiles, textile products and footwear (HS codes 50-67) - 0.61% of Russia’s total imports from Malta (1.15% in the 4th quarter of 2016).

The largest gains in Russia’s imports from Malta in the 4th quarter of 2017 over the 4th quarter of 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:
