In 2017, Russia’s trade with Lebanon totaled $633,719,692, up 17.50% ($94,400,109) from 2016.

Russia’s exports to Lebanon in 2017 totaled $624,822,845, up 18.28% ($96,547,431) from 2016.

Russia’s imports from Lebanon in 2017 were $8,896,847, down 19.44% ($2,147,322) from 2016.

Russia’s trade surplus with Lebanon in 2017 was $615,925,998, a 19.08% increase ($98,694,753) over 2016.

Lebanon was Russia’s 73rd largest trading partner in 2017 (just as in 2016), accounting for 0.1085% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.1153% in 2016).

Lebanon was Russia’s 64th largest export market in 2017 (just as in 2016), accounting for 0.1750% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.1850% in 2016).

Lebanon was Russia’s 118th largest supplier in 2017 (down from 112th in 2016), accounting for 0.0039% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0061% in 2016).

Russia’s Exports to Lebanon

The major share of Russian exports to Lebanon in 2017 (and in 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 48.99% of Russia’s total exports to Lebanon (40.98% in 2016);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 37.97% of Russia’s total exports to Lebanon (39.48% in 2016);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 5.61% of Russia’s total exports to Lebanon (7.56% in 2016);

  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - an increase of $28,408,875;
  • Organic chemicals (HS code 29) - an increase of $3,025,289;
  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - an increase of $2,546,165;
  • Wood and articles of wood; wood charcoal (HS code 44) - an increase of $2,397,488.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Lebanon in 2017 over 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling stock, and parts and accessories thereof (HS code 87) - a decrease of $15,191,482;
  • Miscellaneous chemical products (HS code 38) - a decrease of $9,504,467;
  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $4,872,023.
