In 2017, Russia’s trade with Tanzania totaled $197,999,114, up 55.05% ($70,302,446) from 2016.

Russia’s exports to Tanzania in 2017 totaled $149,831,188, up 89.31% ($70,683,572) from 2016.

Russia’s imports from Tanzania in 2017 were $48,167,926, down 0.79% ($381,126) from 2016.

Russia’s trade surplus with Tanzania in 2017 was $101,663,262, a 232.25% increase ($71,064,698) over 2016.

Tanzania was Russia’s 101st largest trading partner in 2017 (up from 108th in 2016), accounting for 0.0339% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0273% in 2016).

Tanzania was Russia’s 90th largest export market in 2017 (up from 96th in 2016), accounting for 0.0420% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0277% in 2016).

Tanzania was Russia’s 93rd largest supplier in 2017 (down from 92nd in 2016), accounting for 0.0212% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0266% in 2016).

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 82.40% of Russia’s total exports to Tanzania (81.39% in 2016);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 13.16% of Russia’s total exports to Tanzania (7.19% in 2016);

  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - an increase of $585,732.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Tanzania in 2017 over 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - a decrease of $3,371,264;
  • Aluminum and articles thereof (HS code 76) - a decrease of $1,135,676;
