Russia’s Trade with Jamaica

In the 2nd quarter of 2018, Russia’s trade with Jamaica totaled $55,182,894, up 147.69% ($32,903,796) from the 2nd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s exports to Jamaica in the 2nd quarter of 2018 were $436,793, down 88.68% ($3,422,666) from the 2nd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s imports from Jamaica in the 2nd quarter of 2018 totaled $54,746,101, up 197.22% ($36,326,462) from the 2nd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s trade deficit with Jamaica in the 2nd quarter of 2018 was $54,309,308, a 273.00% increase ($39,749,128) over the 2nd quarter of 2017.

Jamaica was Russia’s 95th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2018 (up from 115th in the 2nd quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.0323% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0159% in the 2nd quarter of 2017).

Jamaica was Russia’s 168th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2018 (down from 130th in the 2nd quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.0004% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0046% in the 2nd quarter of 2017).

Jamaica was Russia’s 70th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2018 (up from 86th in the 2nd quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.0902% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0330% in the 2nd quarter of 2017).

Russia’s Exports to Jamaica

The major share of Russian exports to Jamaica in the 2nd quarter of 2018 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2017) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 97.40% of Russia’s total exports to Jamaica (99.43% in the 2nd quarter of 2017);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 1.66% of Russia’s total exports to Jamaica (0.57% in the 2nd quarter of 2017).

The largest gains in Russia’s exports to Jamaica in the 2nd quarter of 2018 over the 2nd quarter of 2017 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Inorganic chemicals; organic or inorganic compounds of precious metals, of rare-earth metals,of radioactive elements or of isotopes (HS code 28) - an increase of $7,256;
  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - an increase of $4,120.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Jamaica in the 2nd quarter of 2018 over the 2nd quarter of 2017 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $3,412,217;
  • Fertilizers (HS code 31) - a decrease of $21,825.

Russia’s Imports from Jamaica

The major share of Russian imports from Jamaica in the 2nd quarter of 2018 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2017) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 99.94% of Russia’s total imports from Jamaica (99.23% in the 2nd quarter of 2017).

The largest gains in Russia’s imports from Jamaica in the 2nd quarter of 2018 over the 2nd quarter of 2017 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Inorganic chemicals; organic or inorganic compounds of precious metals, of rare-earth metals,of radioactive elements or of isotopes (HS code 28) - an increase of $36,434,642.

The largest declines in Russia’s imports from Jamaica in the 2nd quarter of 2018 over the 2nd quarter of 2017 were recorded for the following product groups:
