Russia’s Trade with Ecuador

In the 3rd quarter of 2018, Russia’s trade with Ecuador totaled $364,464,279, up 6.65% ($22,718,843) from the 3rd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s exports to Ecuador in the 3rd quarter of 2018 totaled $109,934,148, up 68.25% ($44,595,309) from the 3rd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s imports from Ecuador in the 3rd quarter of 2018 were $254,530,131, down 7.91% ($21,876,466) from the 3rd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s trade deficit with Ecuador in the 3rd quarter of 2018 was $144,595,983, a 31.49% decrease ($66,471,775) over the 3rd quarter of 2017.

Ecuador was Russia’s 54th largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2018 (up from 56th in the 3rd quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.2118% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.2338% in the 3rd quarter of 2017).

Ecuador was Russia’s 77th largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2018 (up from 80th in the 3rd quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.0980% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0765% in the 3rd quarter of 2017).

Ecuador was Russia’s 37th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2018 (down from 34th in the 3rd quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.4251% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.4544% in the 3rd quarter of 2017).

Russia’s Exports to Ecuador

The major share of Russian exports to Ecuador in the 3rd quarter of 2018 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2017) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 55.46% of Russia’s total exports to Ecuador (42.45% in the 3rd quarter of 2017);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 21.60% of Russia’s total exports to Ecuador (20.33% in the 3rd quarter of 2017);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 8.43% of Russia’s total exports to Ecuador (0.47% in the 3rd quarter of 2017);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 6.83% of Russia’s total exports to Ecuador (12.84% in the 3rd quarter of 2017);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 4.95% of Russia’s total exports to Ecuador (5.10% in the 3rd quarter of 2017);

  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - an increase of $758,198;
  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - an increase of $661,947;
  • Products of animal origin, not elsewhere specified or included (HS code 05) - an increase of $517,400.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Ecuador in the 3rd quarter of 2018 over the 3rd quarter of 2017 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $8,297,620;
  • Pulp of wood or of other fibrous cellulosic material; waste and scrap of paper or paperboard (HS code 47) - a decrease of $1,549,673;
  • Inorganic chemicals; organic or inorganic compounds of precious metals, of rare-earth metals,of radioactive elements or of isotopes (HS code 28) - a decrease of $1,121,352;
  • Aluminum and articles thereof (HS code 76) - a decrease of $1,116,291;
  • Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling stock, and parts and accessories thereof (HS code 87) - a decrease of $734,715.

Russia’s Imports from Ecuador
