Russia’s Trade with Bangladesh

In the 2nd quarter of 2019, Russia’s trade with Bangladesh totaled $405,108,795, up 0.50% ($1,999,388) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s exports to Bangladesh in the 2nd quarter of 2019 were $150,662,288, down 8.87% ($14,658,028) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s imports from Bangladesh in the 2nd quarter of 2019 totaled $254,446,507, up 7.01% ($16,657,416) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s trade deficit with Bangladesh in the 2nd quarter of 2019 was $103,784,219, a 43.21% increase ($31,315,444) over the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Bangladesh was Russia’s 55th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (up from 57th in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.2531% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.2359% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).

Bangladesh was Russia’s 64th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (up from 68th in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.1495% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.1500% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).

Bangladesh was Russia’s 40th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (just as in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.4289% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.3917% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).

Russia’s Exports to Bangladesh

The major share of Russian exports to Bangladesh in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2018) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Printed books, newspapers, pictures and other products of the printing industry; manuscripts, typescripts and plans (HS code 49) - a decrease of $1,216,055;
  • Oil seeds and oleaginous fruits; miscellaneous grains, seeds and fruits; industrial or medicinal plants; straw and fodder (HS code 12) - a decrease of $1,167,293.
