Russia’s Trade with Israel

In the 2nd quarter of 2019, Russia’s trade with Israel was $570,622,900, down 24.90% ($189,203,306) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s exports to Israel in the 2nd quarter of 2019 were $383,322,151, down 33.75% ($195,257,326) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s imports from Israel in the 2nd quarter of 2019 totaled $187,300,749, up 3.34% ($6,054,020) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s trade surplus with Israel in the 2nd quarter of 2019 was $196,021,402, a 50.67% decrease ($201,311,346) over the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Israel was Russia’s 45th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (down from 38th in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.3564% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.4446% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).

Israel was Russia’s 44th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (down from 37th in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.3804% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.5250% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).

Israel was Russia’s 47th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (up from 51st in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.3157% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.2986% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).

Russia’s Exports to Israel

The major share of Russian exports to Israel in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2018) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 38.45% of Russia’s total exports to Israel (37.67% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);
  • Precious metals and stones (HS code 71) - 22.42% of Russia’s total exports to Israel (25.68% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 19.17% of Russia’s total exports to Israel (12.22% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 6.44% of Russia’s total exports to Israel (12.66% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 5.88% of Russia’s total exports to Israel (3.40% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);

  • Organic chemicals (HS code 29) - an increase of $2,757,900;

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Israel in the 2nd quarter of 2019 over the 2nd quarter of 2018 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Natural or cultured pearls, precious or semi-precious stones,precious metals, metals clad with precious metal and articles thereof; imitation jewelry; coin (HS code 71) - a decrease of $62,661,198;
