Russia and Japan have agreed to cooperate in eight areas and jointly develop the South Kuril Islands.
Russian President Vladimir Putin and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe held talks in the Japanese capital, Tokyo. The two leaders agreed to cooperate in eight areas: energy, industry, agriculture, infrastructure, innovation and humanitarian exchanges. The parties also agreed to launch a joint economic activities on the Russian South Kuril Islands.
