In 2011, Russia’s trade totaled $822,478 million, up 31.39% ($196,499 million) from 2010.
Russia’s exports in 2011 totaled $516,718 million, up 30.13% ($119,650 million) from 2010.
Russia’s imports in 2011 totaled $305,760 million, up 33.57% ($76,849 million) from 2010.
Russia’s trade surplus in 2011 was $210,957 million, a 25.45% increase ($42,802 million) over 2010.
Russia’s Exports
The major share of Russian exports in 2011 (and in 2010) was accounted for the following product types:
- Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 71.15% of Russia’s total exports (68.84% in 2010);
- Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 9.20% of Russia’s total exports (10.74% in 2010);
- Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 6.32% of Russia’s total exports (6.36% in 2010);
- Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 3.87% of Russia’s total exports (4.41% in 2010);
