In 2011, Russia’s trade with Costa Rica totaled $124,360,514, up 10.98% ($12,306,605) from 2010.

Russia’s exports to Costa Rica in 2011 totaled $22,820,348, up 103.62% ($11,613,136) from 2010.

Russia’s imports from Costa Rica in 2011 totaled $101,540,166, up 0.69% ($693,469) from 2010.

Russia’s trade deficit with Costa Rica in 2011 was $78,719,818, a 12.18% decrease ($10,919,667) over 2010.

Costa Rica was Russia’s 111th largest trading partner in 2011 (down from 106th in 2010), accounting for 0.0151% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0179% in 2010).

Costa Rica was Russia’s 125th largest export market in 2011 (up from 129th in 2010), accounting for 0.0044% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0028% in 2010).

Costa Rica was Russia’s 81st largest supplier in 2011 (down from 78th in 2010), accounting for 0.0332% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0441% in 2010).

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 92.40% of Russia’s total exports to Costa Rica (28.23% in 2010);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 6.84% of Russia’s total exports to Costa Rica (35.13% in 2010);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 0.51% of Russia’s total exports to Costa Rica (2.43% in 2010);

  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $2,376,323;

Russia’s Imports from Costa Rica

The major share of Russian imports from Costa Rica in 2011 (and in 2010) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 23.78% of Russia’s total imports from Costa Rica (22.11% in 2010);
