In 2011, Russia’s trade with France totaled $28,135,084,001, up 25.25% ($5,672,279,876) from 2010.

Russia’s exports to France in 2011 totaled $14,858,937,565, up 19.64% ($2,438,996,882) from 2010.

Russia’s imports from France in 2011 totaled $13,276,146,436, up 32.19% ($3,233,282,994) from 2010.

Russia’s trade surplus with France in 2011 was $1,582,791,129, a 33.41% decrease ($794,286,112) over 2010.

France was Russia’s 10th largest trading partner in 2011 (just as in 2010), accounting for 3.4208% of Russia’s total trade (down from 3.5884% in 2010).

France was Russia’s 10th largest export market in 2011 (just as in 2010), accounting for 2.8756% of Russia’s total exports (down from 3.1279% in 2010).

France was Russia’s 8th largest supplier in 2011 (down from 6th in 2010), accounting for 4.3420% of Russia’s total imports (down from 4.3872% in 2010).

Russia’s Exports to France

The major share of Russian exports to France in 2011 (and in 2010) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 89.74% of Russia’s total exports to France (88.77% in 2010);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 4.18% of Russia’s total exports to France (6.88% in 2010);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 1.95% of Russia’s total exports to France (1.17% in 2010);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 0.87% of Russia’s total exports to France (1.03% in 2010).

The largest gains in Russia’s exports to France in 2011 over 2010 were recorded for the following product groups:
